In several places on this website I've mentioned the truly humanitarian work by my friend, Nicki in rescuing abused horses. Recently she asked me to name one of her newly received horses. I was honored and humbled by her request.

After considerable thought, I informed Nicki, of the name, Native Winds. On Friday I received the following email from Nicki:

Hi Don,

I got to see, handle, and take pics of your girl Native Winds today! I will let you pick which one or ones to use.

In some ways I feel like a father again. I never had a close connection to a horse before, now I do.
