Many years ago I needed a lift on a cool day in the early Fall. In thinking of the Pacific Ocean nearby, I was suddenly taken back in memory to a time of my teenage years, when I went to college in Illinois.

I recalled how I had passed up an opportunity to go to college in Southern California for romantic reasons and endured harsh cold winters in more ways than one along that path.

I could never have known then that someday I would live near to the Pacific Ocean and these low mountains around here in San Diego. My Spirit brought me here eventually and I created this image as a way to remind myself where I've come from along life's journey.
