Bitterly Cold Journey

It was some time ago when the journey started. The Sun was bright, the skies were blue, and the breezes warm on the face. That was so long ago it's hardly even a memory at this point.

Unsure at the departure, the steps were taken without realizing what was ahead. Then the latent uncertainty appeared along the charted course and the winds of fate changed to a disadvantages direction.

Now the winds blow strongly and the temperature is far below zero. It's so cold that each moment of the clock is intensely measured, waiting for the dawn, if it ever comes.

Someone said better days are ahead, the Sun will shine again. Such promises are easy to say--and disregard.

What's true for right now is this bitterly cold voyage continues with no end in sight. Too cold to consider dreams, too cold to sleep. Only time to wait--and wait--and wait.
