Some things are a puzzlement. Some situations are not understood. Even when such encounters stare you straight in the face, their explanation is unknown.

Humankind throughout the ages from philosophers, artists, people of faith, and renaissance thinkers face certain frustration from time-to-time in their particular field of endeavor.

On a theoretical, if not practical level, it is an impossible task to know all the truth, all the time, about anything in particular. There may be some evidence or clues that persuade you to arrive at one conclusion only to discover an oversight or omission later. Those are the building blocks of an enigma.

Enigma's defy explanations. They come to be differentiated by the varied attempts, often contradictory attempts, to explain their very presence.

Answers to enigmas are rare. They defeat the purpose enigmas exist. Sometimes the 'questions' are more important than the answers.
