Were a space traveler to leave the Earth for an extremely long duration flight that extended far beyond the fringe of the solar system and then return, the Earth may look very different.

Some countries during the traveler's absence may suffer catastrophic changes. Some nations in a better position to adapt, will have done so.

The traveler will have seen many sights during the trip and such changes on the Earth upon return will just be one more new sight to behold.
