The world would still be stuck in the 1970's were it not for the ability to place short notes in the most obvious of places.

A sheet of paper is no place for long organized lists. It seems to be a far better idea to stick unrelated notes at random places around a work area and leave them there for posterity's sake. They may not even be relevant messages any longer, but there they stay.

God forbid the space such a note takes up should be suddenly vacated. The world would never be the same again.
