Don's Arizona Trip August 2002, Part 2 -- 08/20/02 On August 16, 2002, I left on a 3-day 1,200-mile trip through Arizona. I took in a day and night at the Grand Canyon National Park. I then traveled east along the South Rim and then down to Sedona and later Phoenix Arizona. I wanted to feel the awe of the Grand Canyon again. I last visited there in July 1981, with my wife and young daughter. At the Grand Canyon I experienced something that is hard to describe. At once I felt insignificant in the short span of time I am allotted in life and how much time the canyon has existed. It is almost too much to comprehend seeing things in terms of near eternity at the rim. For further reading, I suggest, A Voyage of Discovery. That book includes pictures of many of the places of the 1869 Expedition led by Major John Wesley Powell going down the Colorado River and through the Grand Canyon. Below in Part 2 are a few of the many pictures taken at the Grand Canyon National Park. Part 1 is here. Part 3 is here.
