I was in Northern Arizona for most of this past week. Visiting with my friend and mentor, Gene Weed, we traveled around the region and took many pictures.

I thought a lot about how to write the second part of my book [link since deleted]. I believe I can now put it all together and get it published.

Lone Cactus (Created in September 1999)

This image serves as a reminder that we know ourselves better than anyone else. We know our deepest fears and most expressive joys.

Sometimes, although among a throng of a million people, we are still alone in our thoughts and feelings. When the chips are down we count on ourselves for perseverance. When all is right in the world, we share what we have learned to help others. Using my own words, I quote a portion from that page's narration:

"Did you ever feel like you were standing alone? Sometimes you are..."
