Woodstock Plus 40

The above image, We Are Stardust is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is Woodstock by Ian Matthews, released in 1970.

This weekend is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, an American cultural event that closed out the decade of the 1960's.

I didn't attend Woodstock and never visited that place. The music of that festival represented a different mindset to me. If the Vietnam War had not been a part of the American Experience, I wonder if Woodstock would have ever happened?

The clothes I wore at the time were bell-bottom jeans and sandals. My adult neighbors took issue with me because of my clothes. I was accused of being a hippie. Maybe they thought I was bringing Woodstock to close to home? How mistaken they were if they did.

To be a young adult at that time was to bear a lot of mistrust by adults. No wonder so many young people flocked to Woodstock in 1969...
