Making Waves
![]() Today's song is Mr. Custer by Larry Verne, released in 1960. According to this article, the Lakota Nation no longer considers itself part of the United States. Some Native Americans have suffered from in the Lakota Nation by the hand of the United States, but even so, this latest step is pretty drastic. Once again it illustrates the centuries long issues between that tribe and the United States proper. So many of those treaties between the two nations were broken by the United States and the breaches never seem to be rectified. It will be interesting to see how this latest declaration works out. It's too bad the situation had to come to this stage of disagreement.

Draw your own conclusions to that scenario.
