To Touch Someone
![]() Today's song is Hello Stranger by Yvonne Elliman, released in 1977. The sense of touch is an important aspect of human life. At once, a connection may be made, a deep rapport established, a union of the souls embraced. I've been lucky to have had many of such moments in life. Even in cases where I lose touch with someone, I can reach back in my heart and mind and reestablish a special moment. The passage of time does not diminish my recollection. My memories are not the only tool at my disposal. The Internet allows me to stay in-touch with others that I might otherwise have more difficulty following. The psychic sensing I have is another method that helps keep the connections fresh. My web site here helps people stay in-touch with me. They have a lot of material to peruse. Certain pages or series of pages helps them keep their previous connections with me intact, regardless of the twists and turns of life. Friday night, Sherry and I went to see the new movie, Fool's Gold. We enjoyed the charming story and it is one more way two people stay in-touch after their divorce. Just because people part because of failed romances, doesn't mean they should always stay apart. There might be a vast treasure of opportunity awaiting their reunion. In-person communication remains my favorite method for being in-touch. That mode offers more than other approaches. Until we meet, the other forms will have to suffice.
Last week, Sherry and DJ each purchased an Apple iTouch 16GB model. I hooked their new devices up to the network here at home so they can enjoy their new instruments to the greatest extent. They are having fun using the cool iTouch technologies. Sometimes it's easier to do some computer-type tasks using an iTouch instead of their laptops. In the future I may purchase an iTouch for myself. Right now, I am focusing on my new computer equipment I plan on purchasing this week. I'm keeping my current computer on the network, allowing me to use it without upgrading it for now. I installed JollyFastVNC as a client and Vine Server on my current system so I can control my current system from the new one as needed. That software combination works great! On my new system I'll be adding some new development tools for my work on the Newbound Software Library: Eclipse and Spring Framework. I found an article about hooking both of them up.
Thanks to my cousin, Linda, I am able to publish some images from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Linda inherited the original items and scanned them for me last week. There are two pages of images currently. It's too bad that the artifacts my Grandmother had from that Exhibition vanished from family access when she passed away in 1969. It would have helped to stay in-touch with that First World's Fair event that she and her father participated in so long ago.
My short stories listed below continue in popularity. In a little less than one year's time, they have been viewed approaching 10,000 times on this site and over 7,000 times on an external site. Currently there are 16,801 total page views for all pages shown below:
