The Arctic Blast

Today's song is, Hazy Shade Of Winter, by Simon and Garfunkel, released in 1968.

The Arctic blast results in record low temperatures here in San Diego. This morning it's 44 degrees outside. Two days ago it was 32 degrees outside at about this same time. As the cold wave moves eastward, other sections of the country will experience even harsher conditions.

By the early afternoon, the temperature moderates to about 60 degrees and then cools down again at night. The fruit and avocado crops are destroyed, prices are rapidly rising in their wake.

The Arctic blast surely effected the San Diego Chargers last Sunday too. I'm thinking of sending in my resume to NFL teams to be their Fall Down On The Ball assistant coach. So many professional football players seem to lack the basic skill of falling down on a muffed or fumbled football, or even after a intercepted pass. I probably have a good chance of being hired for that assistant coach's job, since nobody on NFL teams seems to be teaching those basic concepts to players today.

I read about this person who uses photography and video to tell her stories. Stories remain a popular cultural interest to many people. I still have to find a way to incorporate my art and photos into some of my own oral stories.
