On Wednesday, one my Toastmaster friends, earned her Competent Toastmaster (CTM) award at our Twin Oaks Toastmasters meeting. Aparna delivered one of the best speeches I've heard since I joined the club three years ago. She earned the day's Best Speaker Ribbon for that tenth speech too!

Next week Aparna leaves for a two month trip to her birthplace home in India. She'll have many stories to tell her family and friends there. I hope she sends me some pictures of her trip. ;-)

It was a sad day as well because one of our other members is moving to Oregon after serving as a former President of the club and current Area 23 Governor. Yvonne Devine is the club's highest ranking member, recently achieving the Advanced Toastmaster Gold award. She will be missed by all members.

The summer months often cause temporary changes in our lives when people take vacations or move away to start new journeys. I enjoy the paths we shared and know the departing paths we take are in the physical world. In the realm of my heart, those same people are as near to me as ever.
