Acceptable Sadness
![]() Today's song is Tears On My Pillow by Little Anthony & The Imperials, released in 1958. Sadness is an important emotion. Just like laughter, it needs to be expressed to be appreciated. In our American culture, we are mistakenly taught to keep sadness to ourselves, to not show it in public, to deny it to the light of day. I used to practice that behavior, then I realized how unfortunate it is to keep sadness inside. Sadness needs to be vented in a positive way. Tears are one of the best ways to do that. I've formed my own philosophy about it; I laugh in public and I cry in public. Both are valid emotions. That perspective works out very well for me. You might like to consider the truth of it yourself. :-) I have a number of friends that currently are sad about different subjects. I can see it in them. I try to subtly encourage them to look for better days, but I give them the emotional space mostly. I await the day when their smiles will again predominate their presence. Life is a cycle. I hope my friends are there for me when I need some support. I've been pretty lucky in life to have that support most of the time. A supportive spouse and family is even more important. I have all of that and more.
I added a new section, Time Out Of Mind iPhone Pictures for some of my images resized for the new Apple iPhone. Currently, my new page only displays my newest modified digital creation (shown below). More will be added after the iPhone is released.

Those wonderful Get A Mac ads have been honored with winning the Grand Effie award. I love it when the truth wins out! :-) Not to leave other companies crying in their soup, here's an article to help point those companies in the right direction, hankie optional.
Here are a couple articles that may be of interest for working with teams:
