A DemoKratic Election Process?

The above image, Golden Strands is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is All I Have to Do is Dream by The Everly Brothers, released in 1958.

As an independent this year waiting for the general election to be held this November, I find it very interesting how the Democratic Party has messed up their nomination process this election cycle. Because of their short-sightedness, their own Nomination Convention might shaping up to be a back room deal process to select their candidate instead of allowing the voters to determine the candidate. Is that what their idea of Democracy, fairness, and change is all about? Aren't they the party that has complained since the 2000 election about how the Supreme Court was a back room deal for President Bush? How are they different now in 2008?

When will political parties figure out that they should never deprive any American voter their right to vote to determine who should win office?

If the Democrats nominate a candidate by way of a back room deal process, and that person becomes President, then I think the country is in for at least four more years of arguments just on that basis alone.

I await the outcome of the final candidates from the major political parties for office before I start advocating for someone to be President. My choice will be based on how they got nominated, that's a certainty. Otherwise maybe I should move to Russia or Cuba (at least it's warm in Cuba) and vote there.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do?...

I published a new song, Arizona Dreamin' available as an mp3 on my GarageBand Riffs page. Gene added some instruments to my base tracks and did the final audio mixing for me, making it sound very nice. Thanks Gene!

There is also a short video using that same tune, Arizona Dreamin' Quicktime Music Video available on my QuickTime Videos page. It works on the iTouch and iPhone devices as well.

My friend, Gary Plazyk, has published his performances schedule for playing near the Chicago area.

Just in time for the nascent recession [1; 2], the new American $5.00 bill came out on Thursday. Pretty soon all that Monopoly Game money I have might actually be worth something. ;-)
