As the United States celebrates this holiday, I stop to give thanks too all those served my nation in the military past and present. My freedom is guaranteed with their service and lost without it.

This is also the last day for my friend, Rick and his wife Mary to reside here in the States. On Tuesday they leave for Europe where they have already purchased a 1975 31-foot sailboat to travel various parts of the world for the foreseeable future.

This is not a new way of life for them. Rick informed his friends he and Mary previously lived this way from 1975 to 1984. They are experienced world travelers and know their way around the globe.

Rick continues to run his business from the sailboat. The Internet and laptop computer is all he needs to keep in touch with his clients. Rick and Mary are the first of my friends to become a traveling lifestyle couple so far from our shores. I wish them the best in their new adventures.

On Friday night, Sherry and I watched the 2010 DVD movie, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. An interesting movie of lifestyle choices.

On Saturday Sherry and I went to see the Padres beat the Nationals 4-2. That linked page has my pictures of the game.
