Reaping What Was Sown
![]() Today's song is Harvest Moon by Neil Young, released in 1992. The recession continues to grind on the people I know around me. Some of my friends are suffering greatly. If there is a stimulus somewhere other than for Wall Street and Large Banks, it's not apparent to them nor me. America is being realigned by the recession. States, companies, families, and individuals are reevaluating their options. The effects of this recession will last years, even beyond the eventual recovery. I do not know the shape of things to come. I only know it will not be like it used to be. I do see from my users statistics that three of my recently published short stories are read frequently: I can't draw any firm conclusions of this observation. It seems to me to support one more aspect of a possible connection made by visitors to this site and its content.
I published a new personal story, The International Harvester Strike of 1979-80. I've had an interesting work career. I've worked for unions and been in management of corporations. My knowledge spans the reality of both types of work relationships. Some people believe one side or the other is the villain in all cases. From my own experiences, that kind of thinking creates victims by one side or the other.
My friend, Jim, published a new leadership article, 100% Responsibility.
My friend, Gary, reminds us that to learn music you need to, Practice, practice, practice.
My friend, Kenny, reminds me of this important truism, "A fish wouldn't get caught if it didn't open its mouth." That's a lesson we can appreciate when we say something we do not intend.
