Thinking Of Something

The above image, Spawn Of Ideas is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is Just My Imagination by The Temptations, released in 1971.

Recently my Newbound, Inc. partner, Marc, demonstrated to me a way to simplify an interaction between an internet browser and the services we support on our cloud computing servers running our Newbound Software Library. The idea came to him because of something entirely different occurring to him on his browser. That experience spawned a new set of ideas for our company.

New ideas often come from the inspiration of a totally different idea. Take the whole concept of modern computers. At their basic mathematical level, they are represented as binary numbers: 1 and 0. In the electrical circuitry, those two numbers represent the on and off values. You might be surprised to know that the basis for binary math has it's start in India, 200 BCE. To be sure, it evolved further later, but that's where it had its start.

Sometimes the simplest observations give rise to new ideas with unimaginable consequences. I wrote about one of them back on January 29, 2005. When you feel compelled to action, you may be acting on a new idea that has never before seen the light of day. Artists throughout history express themselves with new ideas. The picture I published above today, gave me the motivation to write this message. I think it served its purpose well.

For over two years, my Heart Of Digital Passages iTunes Music Album was sold on the iTunes Music Store. Now all those copyrighted tracks are available on that linked page. Enjoy this holiday idea!

I found this message below on one of my friend's Facebook Wall. I then propagated it on my Wall. Please pass the message along as you can.

When writing out your Holiday cards this year, please consider sending one to a recovering American Soldier at Walter Reed. It will take just a few minutes of your time and yet it will mean so much to these men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Address to:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington D.C., 20307-5001

On Tuesday I went to the see the new movie, 2012. It has a reasonable storyline as long as you suspend your beliefs of reality. If you don't catch it now or when it comes out on DVD, then wait until at least January 1, 2013 to see it. ;-)
